Job Description:

Piper Life Sciences is actively seeking an Chemical Safety Engineer II join a global pharmaceutical organization producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. The Chemical Safety Engineer II will contribute to the development of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) processes and systems. This person will join a reputable company that is looking to double both in size and production in the coming years. This is a Monday - Friday, traditional hours role in Clayton, NC.

Responsibilities of the Chemical Safety Engineer II:

• Provide leadership and direction as it relates to process safety process safety management (PSM) systems
• Help implement and design chemical management safety programs
• Serve as the SME for safety and environmental requirements
• Communicate safety issues concerns and help direct corrective actions and improvements
• Support project executions and compliance through risk assessments (PHA, LOPA, FMEA, HazOP)
• Working collaboratively with internal/external teams to establish alignment of EHS procedures Qualifications of the Chemical Safety Engineer II:
  • B.S. in a chemical engineering background or related field
  • 5+ years of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) experience or with chemical safety in manufacturing/industrial environment
  • Experience with chemicals and high hazard environments
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations Compensation of the Chemical Safety Engineer II:
