Principal DevOps Cloud Engineer page is loaded Principal DevOps Cloud Engineer Apply locations Raleigh, NC time type Full time posted on Posted Yesterday job requisition id R56929 This position provides assistance on AWS containers solutions (ECS Fargate, EKS) and input to management, develops and leads large multifunctional development activities, solves complex technical problems, writes complex code for computer systems, and serves as a senior source of expertise. The position may also provide sizing or budget recommendations to management.Container Orchestration is responsible for defining and implementing a multi-region architecture for Lexisnexis's platform and infrastructure services. This helps the platform services scale without adding additional complexity to our application developers. APIs and systems managed by this team are also responsible for transparent platform integrations (sidecars, daemonsets) that offer core capabilities (Auth, Security, DNS, Load Balancing, Storage) offered to the tenants (applications) making this an area of huge importance to the overall resiliency and reliability of LexisNexis

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 7+ years of Software Engineering experience
• BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required;
• Experience with one or more programming languages Java, C#, Python
• Experience building and scaling large distributed systems and cloud computing with AWS.
• Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation/Terraform).
• 5+ years of working experience in building and supporting container solutions such as Docker, ECS Ec2, AWS Fargate, EKS)
• Thorough understanding of the Kubernetes Platform and container lifecycle management.
• Experience with Kubernetes multi-cluster challenges and Kubernetes networking (e.g. CNI deployment and troubleshooting).
• Experience managing and debugging large scale infrastructure services in production.REQUIREMENTS:Cloud Infrastructure. -Enough to:
  • Design large scale systems within the team, making the right tradeoffs for risk and long-term maintainability.
  • Proactively identify and drive optimizations and improvements to the infrastructure and systems.
  • Set up and drive technical directions of the project while mentor and up-level junior engineers in the team.
  • Lead organization-wide collaboration for the team.
  • Contribute to open source projects.Programming. Enough to:
    • Write CI/CD pipelines
    • Create service poofs-of-concept
    • Fix bugs
    • Add features to servicesAutomation. Enough to:
      • Automate manual processes
      • Improve existing automation
      • Design new automated processesPeople You Would Work With:
        • Software Engineers on the Development Teams
        • DevOps Engineers on the Infrastructure team
        • Architects
        • Test EngineersPREFERRED SKILLS:
          • Open-source contributions to Kubernetes and other related projects.
          • Prior experience scaling the Kubernetes platform at high-growth startups.
