Summary: This role will provide engineering and project management support for larger safety and environmental initiatives across the division. Focus will be on multi-site implementations of safeguards against the greatest risks identified across our network, proliferation and sustainment of regulatory compliance, and driving cultural awareness and constant activity towards our goal of Target Zero.

Reporting Relationship: This position will report to the Masonite Architectural - Capital Manager

Job Description And Responsibilities
Actively supports and assists with execution of safety initiatives and programs across Masonite. All Masonite employees are expected to be leaders in safety performance.
Responsible for reviewing nature and scope of all newly developed Architectural capital projects prior to CER submission to ensure that all EHS issues are being adequately addressed in the project plan (i.e. adequate guarding, operator/machine isolation, pedestrian safety, environmental compliance, permitting requirements
Responsible for managing the development and implementation of a new project/process safety procedures including LOTO, confined space, SSOPs and training plans prior to project startup
Responsible for systematically identifying and implementing improvement initiatives across the Architectural division.
Develop solutions for risk elimination where possible. Develop technical solutions and implementation plans to mitigate behavioral and physical risk factors.
Align safety technologies, engineering solutions and with Masonite Corporate safety and the Residential Division to leverage best practices, standardization and sustainability
Monitor Architectural site safety Kaizens and participate and/or lead those where solutions may weigh towards capital implementation and process engineering optimization.
Create an Architectural Division overall safety risk FMEA across all of the operating sites to allow resources to be focus and directed towards the greatest needs.
Manage and execute projects to mitigate risks and/or implement safeguards across multiple sites. Engage with local teams through full implementation to ensure solution effectiveness, SOP modification/creation, as well as any other management of change needs.
Consistently analyze site risk assessments, internal and regulatory audit reports, and incident reports to identify critical needs, and develop action plans to address those needs.
Participate and be a leader in all major site safety events.
Be a 5S champion for the Architectural division.
Drive adoption of safety culture and sustainability with follow up exercises to all major safety implementations. Iteratively work with Operations team to improve solutions.
Become familiar with pertinent environmental rules and regulations that apply to Masonite's Architectural facilities and work with corporate environment on developing compliance plans, programs and individual solutions as directed.

Skills/Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent Technical Skills, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field
2+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing
Ability to interpret applicable safety codes, standards, guidelines and relevant legislation/regulations.
Lean/Six Sigma fluency a plus.
Implementation of 5S a must.
Demonstrated capability for implementing and managing capital desired.
Demonstrated data analysis skills and technical report writing skills
Demonstrated ability manage multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously.
Ability to effectively communicate and interact, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of a manufacturing organization.
Demonstrated ability to manage workload with flexibility and close attention to detail.
Must be able to work autonomously.
PC proficiency including MS Office. AutoCAD proficiency a plus.
Travel up to 50-75%.
Prior experience with Risk Management programs preferred.
Professional designations such as a Certified Hazard Control Manager (CHCM), 30 hour OSHA Certified, Certification in Ergonomics, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Associate Safety professional (ASP) preferred.
