Job Description Job Description Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1 year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Providing communication access for students through skilled sign language interpretation is critical in educational settings. This onsite role in Lillington, NC offers an opportunity to support a middle school student through 1:1 American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation. The position involves working directly within a school environment, collaborating with educators and staff to facilitate effective communication and learning. Key Qualifications: Active Sign Language Interpreter certification or a minimum EIPA score of 3.5 (scores below will be considered) Experience interpreting in educational settings preferred Ability to provide clear and accurate 1:1 interpretation in ASL for middle school students Strong communication and interpersonal skills suited to working with youth and educators Availability for full-time hours, approximately 37.5 hours per week Willingness to work onsite exclusively at the designated school location Primary Responsibilities: Deliver 1:1 ASL interpreting services for a middle school student at the designated location Facilitate seamless communication between the student, teachers, and staff to support academic achievement Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries consistent with interpreting ethical standards Collaborate with educational team members to accommodate the students learning needs Attend required meetings or training as needed related to the role Location:This onsite role is located in Lillington, North Carolina, supporting the educational environment within the local community.
