Job Description:
Overview
- As a key member of our Enterprise & Operational Risk Management
team, you will lead a group of talented individuals in support of
our enterprise risk appetite, key risk indicator, risk reporting,
and risk committee management. You will advance our approach &
processes and evolve our risk management posture to align more
closely with banking industry best practice and regulatory
expectations for a Top 20 financial institution. You will manage
development of our Enterprise Risk Appetite and facilitate
monitoring of our risk exposure through comprehensive risk
reporting and key risk indicators. You will engage with leaders
throughout the Bank, including executive leadership, ensuring
alignment of risk reporting processes and risk monitoring
mechanisms. You will engage with business leaders to set executive
leadership and Board risk committee agendas, ensuring robust and
timely flow of risk information to the Board. You will collaborate
closely with colleagues in the second line of defense, ensuring a
coordinated approach for gathering information and providing a
holistic view of risk management to executive leadership and the
Board. You will be a key influencer and advocate for continuous
improvement within the risk management function. Responsibilities
- Risk Appetite:

- Work with key stakeholders to develop/update/maintain the
Bank's Enterprise Risk Appetite and supporting Key Risk
Indicators
- Coordinate and monitor Key Risk Indicator reporting by business
units
- Risk Reporting & Committee Management:
- Develop and manage recurring risk reporting processes and
infrastructure, coordinating with Bank-wide risk reporting
rhythms
- Create monthly and quarterly risk reporting packages for the
Bank's Operational Risk Committee, Enterprise Risk Oversight
Committee, and Board Risk Committee
- Create and maintain templates and tools for 1st and 2nd line
stakeholders to facilitate reporting execution.
- Establish agendas Executive Leadership and Board risk
committees, in accordance with committee charters and emerging
themes & trends
- Manage onsite logistics for the Bank's Operational Risk
Committee, Enterprise Risk Oversight Committee, and Board Risk
Committee
- Engage with business leaders and risk management colleagues to
identify opportunities to enhance reporting approach
- Partner with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of reporting
content and supporting processes.
- Build strong relationships with all levels of the company and
interface with stakeholders in a professional manner including
regulators, vendors, consultants, and employees
- Collaborate with ERM/ORM colleagues to develop and maintain
appropriate governance documentation in support of risk
reporting
- Provide regular status report updates on project plans and
maintain schedules
- Benchmark risk reporting against other large financial
institutions and regulatory requirement
- Participate in large financial institution peer groups
QualificationsBachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in
Operational Risk Management and Enterprise Risk Management, or
regulatory guidance pertaining to Enterprise and Operational Risk
(e.g. FDIC, risk and control frameworks like COSO, Basel) OR High
School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Operational
Risk Management and Enterprise Risk Management, or regulatory
guidance pertaining to Enterprise and Operational Risk (e.g. FDIC,
risk and control frameworks like COSO, Basel)Preferred Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business management or related field of
study
- 8+ years' experience in an ERM/ORM at a large financial
institution
- Experience executing in a risk reporting role at a large
financial institution
- Knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management and/or Operational Risk
Management and regulatory frameworks (e.g. COSO, FDIC)
- Advanced proficiency with team collaboration and productivity
tools (e.g. Teams, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience managing projects and facilitating process
improvement change with multiple stakeholders
- Strong communication, consulting, documentation, and
presentation skillsPreferred Requirements:
- Master's degree in a Business discipline
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Experience with the Tableau platform, including development of
Tableau visualizations
- Experience with Archer, or other GRC platformsSkill(s):
Knowledge of operational and enterprise risk management including
identification, assessment, and escalation of risk issues, Ability
to track and coordinate large, complex processes, Knowledge of
regulatory guidance pertaining to enterprise and operational risk
as well as risk control frameworks, PC Skills including Microsoft
Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint
