• Career growth and opportunityJob DetailsOur client is seeking a Senior Accountant based at our corporate headquarters in Raleigh, NC. Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Accounting, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for various aspects of the month-end close process and assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and schedules.Responsibilities
  • Heavily involved in the month-end close process
  • Preparation and maintenance of monthly accruals and allocations across multiple divisions
  • Calculate basic and diluted earnings per share
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and schedules
  • Provide account analysis, including researching and explaining fluctuations
  • Assist in developing and testing reports in OneStream for internal and external reporting
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budget for corporate business units
  • Provide assistance with quarterly and annual reporting
  • Preparation of account reconciliations
  • Evaluate and recommend new approaches and procedures that result in process improvements and efficiencies
  • Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors
  • Assist in maintaining the integrity of the company's chart of accounts and business unit structure
  • Document and maintain accounting procedures and processes
  • Ad-Hoc reporting and analysisRequirements
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required or in progress
    • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience; Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience with CPA/Masters degree
    • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
    • Must be a self-starter and a quick learner who can work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision
    • Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel; JD Edwards skills desirable
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
    • Detail-oriented with an ability to identify and resolve problems both independently and as part of a team
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization
    • Strong organizational and time management ability
